What Rice Paper Bags Are NOT

Before you order, know the trade-offs:

  • NOTplastic-free by default. Rice paper is the outer layer of a laminate. The certified compostable build (PLA or cellophane liner, EN 13432 / ASTM D6400) is a specific spec — if you need the claim on your pack, say so up front, because a standard plastic liner under rice paper is not compostable.
  • NOTa full barrier with a window. A clear window helps sell the product but slightly reduces moisture and oxygen protection where the film is cut. Coffee with a valve is fine; highly oxygen-sensitive products should skip the window.
  • NOTfor liquids or wet products. Rice paper pouches are for dry goods — coffee, tea, nuts, snacks, powders. For juice, puree, or sauces, use spout pouches instead.
