The BPI Certification belongs to Achieve Pack as the certified manufacturer. Brand owners wishing to display the BPI logo on their packaging must apply for a sub-license through BPI. Budget honestly for this: the sub-license costs roughly $3,000 per year, paid to BPI—not to us.

European Standard

The European standard for compostable packaging. Requires 90% disintegration within 12 weeks and complete biodegradation within 6 months in industrial composting conditions. The EU Seedling logo refers to this industrial standard—not home composting.

US

ASTM D6400

US Standard

US standard for plastics designed for municipal/industrial aerobic composting facilities. Testing equivalent to EN 13432, recognized across North America.

AS 4736 / AS 5810

Australian Standards

AS 4736 for commercial compostability and AS 5810 (ABA verified) for home compostability. Required for compostable claims in Australia and New Zealand.

OK Compost HOME / DIN Home Compost

TÜV Austria / DIN CERTCO

Certification for materials that biodegrade in home composting conditions (20-30°C). The gold standard for consumer-level compostability.

What Certificates Do NOT Prove

Read this before you print a logo on your pouch:

  • • A certificate does NOT cover everything we make. Each cert covers its audited scope only—one material line, one facility, one standard. Ask us which certificate applies to your specific pouch.
  • • Certification does NOT include logo rights. Displaying the BPI logo on your packaging requires your own sub-license from BPI (roughly $3,000/year, paid to BPI). The EU Seedling logo means EN 13432 industrial composting—not home composting.
  • • Certificates do NOT last forever. They expire and get re-audited. Always ask us for current copies before your print run, not the PDF from last year.
  • • A factory certificate does NOT certify your filled product. BRC and ISO cover our processes; your product's own compliance is still yours.
