What Spout Pouches Are NOT

Before you spec a spout pouch, know the trade-offs:

  • NOThot-fill by default. Standard structures handle ambient and chilled fills. If you're filling above ~85°C (185°F), that needs a heat-resistant spec and a real conversation — tell us your fill temperature before we quote, not after.
  • NOTfor carbonated drinks. Carbonation pressure will stress the seals and the spout fitment. Still drinks only — juice, smoothies, purees, cold brew, sports drinks.
  • NOTrecyclable if you need long ambient shelf life. Months at room temperature requires a foil or metallized layer, and that layer takes the pouch out of the recycling stream. Mono-PE (store drop-off #4, not curbside) suits shorter chilled shelf life. Pick the trade-off knowingly — we'll lay out both costings.
