Can I order 100 custom printed pouches?
No. Custom printing starts at 500 pieces, at $0.70 each on the XS stand-up in recyclable mono-PE. The 100 piece minimum that Pouch.eco advertises is for blank stock bags only, which run $0.056 to $0.352 per piece depending on size and ship in 48 hours. There is no 100 piece printed run at any price.

This is the single most common question that reaches us, and the honest answer is also the least convenient one. The 100 piece figure and the custom print figure come from two different products on the same site, and reading them as one number is what creates the confusion. Here is how the two actually work, and what the options are if you genuinely need printed pouches in the low hundreds.
The two products, side by side
| Stock, blank | Custom print | |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 100 pieces | 500 pieces |
| Priced by | bag size | run length |
| Price at minimum | $0.056 XS to $0.352 XL | $0.70 per piece |
| Ships | 48 hours | 2 to 3 weeks |
| Setup fee | None | None on digital runs |
| Your artwork | No, blank | Yes, full colour |
Both routes ship DDP with duty paid to the US, EU and Australia.
Why the printed minimum cannot drop to 100
A printed run carries costs that exist whether you order 100 pieces or 10,000: a digital proof, a press set-up, a colour match, and a quality check against the approved proof. At 500 pieces those costs are spread thinly enough to reach $0.70 per pouch. At 100 pieces the same fixed costs land on a fifth of the volume, which pushes the per-piece price to a level nobody would pay.
The blank route has none of those costs. Nothing is printed and nothing is set up, so the price is set purely by how much film the bag takes. That is why blank stock can start at 100 pieces and stay at $0.056 per piece even if you only order 100.
What printed pouches cost as the run grows
| Run length | Price per piece | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 500 | $0.70 | Minimum printed run |
| 1,000 | $0.58 | 17% lower per piece than 500 |
| 5,000 | $0.21 | 70% lower per piece than 500 |
| 10,000+ | $0.10 | Switches to gravure for the floor price |
Priced on the XS stand-up in recyclable mono-PE. Larger sizes and high-barrier builds cost more.
If you really only need 100 printed pouches
There are three routes that actually work, in ascending order of how much they resemble the thing you wanted.
Order blank stock in the right size and add a label. A blank M size bag is $0.120, so 100 of them is $12 before freight, and a printed label can be produced domestically at short notice. It is not the same product, but it tests the same shelf.
Order 500 and use the surplus for the next production run. Pouch.eco films have a shelf life, so this only makes sense if you expect to sell through the surplus within a year or two.
Start with the $40 sample kit. It contains several shapes and materials, ships in 48 hours, and the whole $40+ comes off your first production order. It removes the guesswork before you commit to 500.
Where this answer stops being true
Stated up front rather than discovered after the order.
- !Prices above are for the XS stand-up in recyclable mono-PE. A flat bottom bag in home compostable film at 500 pieces costs more than $0.70, because the construction uses more film and the material costs more.
- !High-barrier builds, metallised layers and multi-layer structures all move the price up, and some of them remove the recyclability claim entirely.
- !Digital print has no plate fee, which is why short runs are viable at all. Above 10,000 pieces gravure becomes cheaper per piece but introduces a one-off cylinder cost.
- !Freight is included DDP to the US, EU and Australia. Other destinations are quoted separately.
Frequently asked
What is the real minimum order for custom printed pouches?+
500 pieces. The 100 piece minimum on the site refers to blank stock bags, which carry no printing and no set-up. There is no printed run below 500.
How much is 500 custom printed pouches?+
About $350 in total at $0.70 per piece on the XS stand-up in recyclable mono-PE, before size and barrier upgrades. Larger sizes, home compostable film and high-barrier structures cost more per piece.
Why is a blank bag $0.056 and a printed one $0.70?+
Because they are two different products rather than two tiers of one. Blank stock has no proof, no press set-up and no colour match, and is priced only by the film a bag consumes. Printing adds fixed costs that have to be recovered across the run.
Can I print my own logo on 100 blank bags myself?+
You can label them, and many first launches do exactly that. Direct printing on a finished pouch needs a press and a registered artwork file, so it is not a home operation.
Does the sample kit cost really come off the first order?+
Yes. The full $40+ is credited against your first production order at any size. The kit ships in 48 hours.
